Paul and Stella La Violette.

have done what a lot of us say we would like to do
but don’t, wrote books about the things that interest them in the events that take place about them.

Paul Estronza La Violette at a book signing for Annabelle Publishing
They have formed their own two-person publishing company, Annabelle Publishing, to produce their books. The books Annabelle has produced have been big sellers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast as well as the adjacent states of Alabama and Louisiana for the last eight years. Their success is in some
ways surprising in that there are no murders in the books, no federal agents looking for terrorists, just the everyday, normal, wonderfully unique life that those of us that live on the
Coast enjoy.

Despite this rationality, just about everyone who has read their books, even people who do not live on the coast, feel personally gratified, relating what they write about to their own individual life experiences.

Stella enjoys cooking and has gained a well-deserved reputation for the wonderful meals she makes for both large and small dinner parties. Her first cookbook, Blueberry Peaches, Red Robin Pie, lives up to that reputation; presenting wonderful examples
of the favorite meals she has enjoyed preparing. All of the recipes are Stella’s own and have been tried many times on her built in recipe critic: her husband, Paul. She is presently working on a new cookbook whose working title, Pale White Oysters and Red Tipped Crabs, reflect its seafood content. Because of Katrina, the publication of this book has been delayed. Present plans are to print it in late 2008 – early 2009.

Paul’s books are about the life he and his wife, Stella, have led living on the beach of a small coastal town in Mississippi. As a marine scientist, La Violette sees the world of the coastal marsh and Mississippi Sound in a different way than many people. He talks in his books about the birds and the marsh and the beaches; about the way the waters move in the Sound and the Barrier Islands that lie on its southern edge. He writes about these in a personal way, describing in an informal conversational style what he sees and how it affects his and Stella’s life as well as those of the people of the small towns along the Coast.

is a native of Gulfport, Mississippi and has spent much of her life on the Gulf Coast. She received her training as an artist at William Carey College where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art in 1991.

She has had numerous showings along the coast and her work can be seen in many of the regional art galleries.

is a well-established Mississippi Coast artist whose murals decorate many of the buildings in his hometown of Ocean Springs. His series of pen and ink drawings of the offshore islands and coastal scenes are now valuable collectables and grace the walls of many of the regions houses. His richly detailed illustrations bring further life to Views from a Front Porch and his animated drawings in Blueberry Peaches, Red Robin Pie add a note of delightful whimsy to its recipes.
